The Development Policy and Analysis Division's main publications include two departmental flagships, the World Economic and Social Survey (WESS) and the World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP), and thematic reports by the Committee for Development Policy.

1.- The World Economic and Social Survey (WESS) provides objective analyses of pressing long-term social and economic development issues and discusses the positive and negative impact of corresponding policies.

2.- The World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) is a joint product of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the five United Nations regional commissions. It provides an overview of recent global economic performance and short-term prospects for the world economy and of some key global economic policy and development issues.

3.- The publications of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP) provide in-depth analyses on the annual theme(s) selected by the high-level segment of ECOSOC. Based on its expertise, the Committee itself often undertakes analyses of critical issues on the international development agenda. In addition, the CDP publications include information on the methodology for identifying countries for inclusion in or graduation from the list of the least developed countries, as well as on the results of the triennial review of the list.
